Barbara Volkov

Barbara-Volkov-290x300I am a Mobile Notary Public, a Certified Loan Signing Agent and a Certified Records Manager with a background in document processing starting in Orange County California in 1985 where I founded a company called Volkov Enterprises. We used the dba of “File Pros” until 2005.

In 1993 my husband joined me in this document processing business when he retired from Alcon Inc as their Business Services Manager. More about him below.

We designed cutting edge document control solutions and were among the first to travel to client sites to perform file conversions where we color coded and re-ordered hard copy filing systems for millions of files. We traveled nationwide providing record retention schedules, process re-engineering for records, time and motion studies and ultimately became involved in performing backfile conversions of hard copy records to digital documents, identifying and classifying individual documents within millions of files for major companies nationwide. Total number of documents identified, imaged and recorded exceeded 60 million over a period of years with our largest project providing conversion services for a major financial institution in five locations in three states simultaneously.

In 2005, we moved to beautiful Bellingham WA and began providing a modified version of these services that allowed us to work from our home, freeing us from full-time travel.

When moving to Washington we became real estate investors and took literally thousands of hours of training, which has allowed us to become familiar with the intricacies of loan documents in their many formats, lingos and foibles.

I am a mobile notary, providing general notary public services to clients who are too busy to go to a notary public or are, for some reason, unable to drive to a local notary location. I also provide notary services to residents of local convalescent hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living locations, as well as senior centers and hospitals.

Sergei Volkov

Sergei-Volkov-247x300While Barbara and I have many of the same certifications, I am a retired Certified Records Manager and became a notary public for the purpose of helping Barbara in her growing notary business. Having obtained the Notary Public designation I am able to help put loan packages together and assist Barbara in her signings. Using this methodology we seldom have a loan package returned for incomplete or inaccurate documents and have never had a notarial act challenged. When she has to travel for her notary business, I often travel with her for company and my expertise, of course. While away we enjoy lunches and other activities between assignments.

At Barbara’s fervent “request” in 2015 I also trained and completed all necessary requirements (additional insurance, etc.) and now also provide “onsite” loan signing services. Although typically Barbara performs most of the actual “onsite” services, I print and review all loan documents on her signings and mine prior to her onsite visit and double-check all completed documents prior to sending back to escrow or lender.
